House crickets (Acheta domesticus)

The cricket is the standard feed insect which no reptile enthusiast should be without. They enjoy great popularity due to their average size, simple manner and relatively high resilience. They are eaten by almost all reptiles which also feed on orthoptera. As crickets are also found in central Europe, they can also be transported during winter without suffering considerable losses. Bird lovers also fall back on crickets to raise their bird's brood.
